Word Filled Wednesday

And we know that
in all things
God
works for the good
of those who love him,
who have been called according to
his purpose.

Romans 8:38
This is my verse for today. I don't have a pretty picture to go along with it..haven't figured out how to do that yet~ :)
BUT,
This verse is VERY special. It was shared with me this week from a dear friend who I had just shared some tuff stuff with that is going on in our family. This is the verse that she said brings peace and goodness to an unfortunate situation. So much good can come...we need to trust God and ASK Him to bring it. Never give up. With God there is no "it's all over" talk. There's GOOD to come...and that's exciting.

And then I received this little bit of encouragement from another friend.
Sometimes we wonder, "What did I do to deserve this?" or "Why did God do this to me?" Here is a wonderful explanation!
A daughter is telling her mother how everything is going wrong.
She's failing algebra, her boyfriend broke up with her and her best friend is moving away.

Meanwhile, her Mother is baking a cake and asks her daughter if she would like a snack, and the daughter says, "Absolutely Mom, I love your cake".

"Here, have some cooking oil," her Mother offers. "Yuck" says her daughter.

"How about a couple of raw eggs?" "Gross, Mom!"

"Would you like some flour then? Or maybe baking soda?" "Mom, those are all yucky!"

To which the mother replies: "Yes, all those things seem bad by themselves. But when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake!

God works the same way. Many times we wonder why He would let us go through such bad and difficult times. But God knows that when He puts these things in His order, they always work for good! We just have to trust Him and, eventually, they will make something wonderful!

be happy

I'm trying to remember this as I live in silence today.
Well...I can hear other people talk, but just not me! :)
It is extremely hard when you have things to say and cannot.

I've lost my voice!

I'm not sure if I've been talking too much or if I've just been so stressed out that I ended up getting sick. I actually don't feel too bad, but sound (what little there is) bad. It's so frustrating to not be able to talk right now because I have alot to say. So if you call me today and I don't answer...you know why! :)

Word Filled Wednesday

"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess,
for He who promised is faithful.
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds." Hebrews 10:23-24

I am so glad that He is faithful. His promises are real and hold true. I like the part about spurring others on to love and good deeds. How often can/do we push others away from God because we are not being who we need and want to be? It's not always just about us! I so need to remember that! Let's point others TO Jesus. He has so much to offer and loves us more than anyone can ever love. We all need that.

Another loss

Last summer a mechanic shop in my town was destroyed by fire.
3 months ago my uncle Kenny was killed in a car accident.
A short time later my town lost a very young person in another car accident.
Another person...very well known here....died unexpectedly.
Today....we lost 2 businesses to fire. A bar/steakhouse/bowling alley and a cafe(that just 3 years ago was owned by my uncle and his wife for 13 years) . For those of you who read my blog and don't know me....that's some huge losses for a town of about 700 people.
People here are frustrated. "Why do bad things keep happening?" "When is it enough?"
It is incredibly hard to see through some of this and as a Christian I like to seek God in it. Tonight I'm sort of at a loss for thoughts. I just know that God IS here, He DOES care...and He WILL see this community through these losses.

Word Filled Wednesday

This is a really good verse for me today.
1 Thessalonians 5:15- "Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else."

There's a pit in my stomach.

I don't think I've ever posted about work and I had very much intended to NOT post about it. But I asking my friends/family to pray for me as I make important decisions about my job. We are currently going through some changes at work and although they are to be good changes for us, it doesn't feel right. I'm not exactly sure why I am so incredibly torn and upset about these changes, but I am. I know I need some changing personally and maybe this will take me there....just not sure.

It's been a while....

...well just 5 days since I posted last. I've been busy!! I went to Fargo for Easter weekend and then off to Battle Lake to meet up with the rest of the family. Always fun to see those we see so seldom.
And the little ones are just adorable :). Amy, Destiny and I even got to help them (ages 23 months and 3 years) color Easter eggs. Fun! The package said...NO MESS dye. Um...they must have not realized who would be using the dye! :) It wasn't to bad actually.
Amy, Destiny and I went to church in Fargo on Saturday and then we all went again on Sunday to the church they have been going to .
It looks as if the flooding in Fargo has made it's way in our neighborhood. We did have some under the water roads to travel on last night and tonight Billie Jo called and said their entire yard is flooded and they were sandbagging around their house!

Today is one year since Grandpa Reutter died. Doesn't seem like it is one year already. Still think of him often and miss him greatly! He was just such an accepting person. We always knew he'd care, no matter what.

Sierra's Appointment

Well little Sierra did so well yesterday. She was mostly happy and cooperative. Her tests went well (took a long time!), however, they did find that her bladder refluxes back into her kidney so at this point she is scheduled for and ultrasound in 3 months and just keep an eye on it. They want her to be potty trained so Billie Jo bought her some really cut panties. Sierra picked them out.
I was completely worn out from the day!! 3 little girls on a trip to town is alot of work!!! They did good, it's just constant movement and questions and needs. But they are still adorable!! :)

Sunday, April 5, 2009

Pray for this little sweetheart.

Tomorrow she will be having another test on her kidney. She really really does not like Dr's. She is so much like her auntie Lisa!! :)
We pray for a good test and a good result.

An Amazing Story!

A God of Love

I read something this morning that really touched me. It's from 1 John 3:1-3

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! (Did you read that???)The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. (Do we really represent God enough that people see Him in us???) Dear friends, now we are children of God (CHILDREN of God!), and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears,we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.

We represent Him! He lavishes love upon us. I'm sure that your children have some similarities to you. People can usually tell "oh that's so and so's child for sure"....just by their looks or personality, etc.
Oh how I hope and pray that we can be like Him...that we know Him. That other's see Him in us. And in that...we bring people TO Him and not away.
We are promised His love, His purity. Let's KNOW Him and represent Him for who He really is. We are His Children!

Word Filled Wednesday

He calmed the storm to a whisper.. Psalms 107:29
This verse shows how I feel God has been answering prayers about the flooding.
