Christmas

Why does the Christmas season have to be so stressful??
Seriously. If it is not money issues...I mean think about it, most people spend ALOT of time shopping right now. If you don't plan ahead for this sort of shopping...is that a financial stress then???
And all the preparation that we think we need to do....cleaning, baking, cards, programs, the list goes on. I think in a normal month we are usually fairly busy running around, now add extra things.
And of course there is always the decision of where to go or to have company. I remember when the kids were little and we went from place to place. It was a very very busy time of visiting. Fun, but busy.
Family stuff doesn't always work out like we'd like it to. I don't know.....for something that is suppose to be the best time of the year...I question that. I mean, I LOVE being with my family, that's the best part. But getting everything figured out first is the stressful part.
So hurry up Christmas!
I'm ready for the real part of the Holiday.

At His feet

Sue over at Praise and Coffee has a wonderful post about laying it all at the feet of Jesus. I just really enjoyed reading it again today. To see the entire post visit her at Praise and Coffee.

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."
Matt 11:28-30 NKJV

How easy it is to become overwhelmed in this life with both simple and hard things. Life IS tough, but God is bigger and better. He wants our burdens...ALL of them. There is no reason for us to carry them. Sometimes I wonder why do we then? I'm wondering if we (I) don't really know what God can do with them anyway. But that's a really dumb thought, because I have already seen what God can do...many times over. So, I start again. At the feet of Jesus. I suppose this should be the way to start each day. Might be a good idea.

Out of sorts

I really don't even know what to write on here anymore. It seems as if I've lost my ambition to write. I am always working on my other blog and this one gets no attention. And it shows! I'm thinking that what we neglect has a way of showing up as just that. The more we put into something, the more we get out of it and visa versa. I don't have an obligation to this blog....so ya, it's just a blog. But what if it was something much more important. Like family and work and most importantly our relationship with God??? What happens then? I see what neglect is doing to this blog. I am becoming even less interested in looking at it even. Is that how it is with God. We start neglecting that relationship because we are busy or life is just too hard to think of God at the time. Then what?
As it is with this blog...it's still here.
It's just ME who hasn't put the effort into it and that is showing.
So with God....He is still here,
but my neglect in Him might be showing up in my behavior. I'm really thankful that God never leaves us. He always lets up pick up where we left off, but isn't it sad when we think of all the blessings that we most likely missed out on cuz we were too busy for God? So today....I say, for me....whatever it takes to get back to a real relationship with the One person who really cares...Just Do It!!

Well...

I am slacking so bad with this blog...it's not even funny! I of course have my party blogging that really keeps me on my toes, as I do a post there every day except Saturday. And then there's facebook. Yes, I joined. Not sure what I was thinking...but i do kind of like it! :)
Even though my new job is not physical work....I am so tired at night. I have to go to bed early as I get up at 6am. Morning comes so fast. When I get to work at 7:30 am everybody is pretty much there and at their desks already! It's going better. I just have SO much to learn, it's crazy. But it will come...right?
I am going to Fargo for the weekend. Grandma W has a wedding to go to so I am taking her to that. I haven't been there for some time so I am kind of excited to go. Destiny is going to be trying on some Wedding dresses too so that will be fun to see them.
I posted today about Sierra's Candy party on my other blog. Take a look at some very cute pictures of a sweet girl!

Word Filled Wednesday

I know this is a SUMMER picture and it's fall, but hey...it fits the text so well that I had to.
And sweet Hannah is just adorable so that works too. :)
"He reached down from on high and took hold of me; He drew me out of deep waters." Psalms 18:16
Do you know that HE will do that for you? No matter what you are going through, He will reach down and draw you out of the deep dark pit that you may be in...whatever it is. I love knowing that He wants good for us. He desires for us to be happy and content. So today....if you are in the deep waters, let Him draw you out.

Math

I'm thinking that maybe I should have payed more attention in Math class however many years ago! My job uses so many numbers, adding, multiplying, dividing....everything!! Seriously! I'm a bit green in Math. I hope what I did learn comes back. :) It is going well though. I think. Maybe I should ask the person training me!! Everyone is very nice, very helpful. Farmers have been very good also.
I haven't been writing too much on here. The days just get away on me! We did Sierra's Birthday yesterday and I will be posting pictures on my party blog soon. It was a great day. Lots of fun and certainly sweet! :)

New job

Well today is the day. I begin a new job, a new career. Hum...what will it be like? Fun, I hope! :)
It's kind of hard to think that I will now have to do something everyday. No more sitting around the house doing my own thing. I kind of liked being unemployed. :) But it will be nice to get a paycheck since I do like to shop.
I had a great Birthday yesterday. Scarlett and I went to Bismarck. I needed to do some shopping for Sierra's sweet birthday party coming up on Sunday. We had a good day.
And Happy Birthday to Anthony today! He turns 23. Where did all the time go?
Have a great day son!

Weekend

I spent the weekend in Fargo with Amy and we had a really good time. We went through a bunch of her things. Did alot of organizing. Got a bookcase and put that together. That girl has a ton of books!! We made chocolate reval bars at 10:30 at night. They were delightful! We ate out and I did some clothes shopping for work. That was fun too. :) Mom, Amy and I took Destiny Wedding Dress shopping. That was interesting. Didn't find a dress. I have a feeling that will take MANY trips to the Bridal Shops.
I'm home today with a LOAD of stuff to do! I don't know where to start first. Women's Retreat, Harvey's Homecoming order, putting stuff away from the weekend....oh, I haven't had breakfast yet either. :)

I have a job!

I got back from a wonderful weekend at Lifelight (pictures to come) and got a phone call from the Salon and I have a job. :) Today was my first day. It was a bit scary, but I think that I will catch on fast and it will go very well. All the girls seem very nice. It's a very relaxed atmosphere! I think I needed that. It's a part time job so that's kinda nice too. My boss said she was impressed by me telling her that I had prayed about a job and that I knew that God would put me right where He wanted me. I did recieve a call from another job that I had applied for and I need to call them back. I think they may have wanted a 2nd interview. I trust God's plan....He knows what He's doing. :)
Now....I just need to get the house ready for some painting!

Job Interviews and Lifelight

I have had one Job Interview this morning, going to another one this afternoon and sending off another Job application today. This job hunting is becoming interesting. Before last week I had never even had an interview so I'm catching on ....learning. I love that God is in control and not me! :)

Tomorrow Amy, Jae, Marilyn and I head off to SD for Lifelight. I'm so glad that this year at least Amy and I do not have to go alone. I mean we have a good time together....but it will just be nice to have other people to share this awesome experience with. Jae has been looking forward to this all summer! So glad she gets to come along. And Marilyn, even though she is just starting to walk without crutches and has a bit of a cold, she is going and I am glad that she is willing to do that even though circumstances are not the best for her.
I pray that we will be very blessed.

Games

The 3 little girls were here on Saturday night for awhile and this was our fun.
First was the mosaic game.
It was fun to make something pretty.
Here they are all laughing so hard, they can hardly play the game!! :)
Then was Candyland.
So Hannah named each one of the little colored men.
Yellow was for Happy(I got him), Blue was Sad, Red was Mad and Green was Grass.
Not sure of her system, but cute non the less. :)

Job Interview

I had my very first job interview today! I'm 42 and I had never been interviewed before. Wierd, but okay. Now I wait. But that's ok, because I know that God is in charge here and He knows best. :)
I finally got outside and pulled some weeds today....not sure I had done that yet this year! I know, that's bad! I mowed and trimmed some hedges too.
I picked out some paint samples today. Really wanting to paint the outside of the house. The color I picked though....it's called Hard Work! Not sure I want that! :)
Hannah's Party was this weekend and I just posted about it HERE. It was a great time. The kids were just the best.
Next: Sierra's 3rd birthday...candy themed.

Camporee Pictures

The hot-air balloon we ALMOST got to ride in.
First day, we got in line and the guy in charge came up to us and said
" with the humidity, the balloon is using more propane than normal and I don't think you'll get to ride today."
So we left. Next day, we got in line...closer this time!
The guy in charge says to everyone
"there's a REAL GOOD chance that we will not be taking anybody up today."
Guess it was too windy. Blaaa! Next day.....no balloon at all. Bad weather!
It was right across where our camp was set up.
So close, yet no ride. :(
Take note of all the porta potties!
Us "working" :)

Starting Over.

I have almost just returned from a week at International Pathfinder Camporee in OshKosh WI. I have made it as far as Fargo and will head home tomorrow. Both Amy and I had a great time even though we worked alot. We helped with the cooking for the Dakota Conference which was about 150 people every day. When we got a break from that we helped Lynette (my sister) work in the two stores that she had set up at the camp. One...the bookstore and two...the food store. Both were quite busy with times being very overwhelmed with people who for the most part could speak English, but we did find some that had some troubles with that. I will admit that I got a bit tired of people a few times. You put 35,000 people in tents and allow them 3 minute showers (if they even take them), be in the heat, walk...walk...walk (unless we got the golf cart), work, try to understand people from Brazil, Jamaca, Africa, Mexico...etc. and see if you get a bit worn out. :) But I am GLAD we went. And thanks to Lynette we had a wonderful Hotel room!! It was a good week. Very good.

I will be home tomorrow to start looking for a new job as I did quit the Dental job I've had for 7 1/2 years. All I can say is that I KNEW I had to. It was time. I feel good about my decision. I know it was the right thing to do. I am trusting that God has a better plan for me.

I'm busy working on a Birthday Party for Hannah. She turned 5 on Friday and since I was not home we planned it for this coming Saturday. She has chosen a Strawberry Shortcake theme and I am very excited to see how much fun we can have! :) Not only do I love planning parties, but I love how happy it makes people feel when they are celebrated.

Have a great day all. Enjoy.

New Day

This is Amy's front door. It is made just from contact paper.
Amy cut the letters out freehand and applied them.
What a fresh way to start the day as you head out into this crazy world.
I'm claiming this quote today. :)

WFW

Finally I'm doing a Work Filled Wednesday Post! :) Life been so crazy and that's really sad that I do alot of other posts on my party blog...but never seem to get this important post done.

When I think of this text today it makes me realize that yes, God may have given me a talent to plan and create parties, but I need to not forget to keep Him in it and share Him.

Have a great Wednesday everyone....keeping God IN your day. :) "Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms." 1 Peter 4:10

There's something going on.

Seriously. In the past week I have talked to at LEAST 4 people that are friends or family and their lives are in turmoil. This isn't right. I know that times are going to get tough and I know that there are things that we will not like in this life....but, why so bad, so much, to so many people? To me it feels as if life is falling apart. People are not able to make decisions. I know it's tough to make the RIGHT decision. If we knew the future...that would make it alot easier. Anybody have any thoughts, I would sure be happy to hear them.

And then I read my verse for today~
Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
1 Peter 5:8
Is that what's going on??

Sonshine

With the very busy week I've had, I haven't had a chance to even blog! So today...we didn't go to church and I'm going to relax! We had VBS this week and it was great. My group of kids were just the best. :)
Here are some pictures from our time at Sonshine. We had a wonderful time...aside from freezing and little sleep due to the noisy teens running around. But that's ok....we were still blessed and I am guessing they were too. :) We have decided that we do prefer Lifelight, but not totally sure why.
We managed to survive staying in our tent. I'd say that's pretty good for two girls who have rarely camped. My first air mattress didn't stay up the first night. My second air mattress made the rest of the weekend...but barely, it was pretty flat by Sunday. We managed the group showers very well. Of course we had our swimsuits along...so that was good! Our meals were mostly ate in our tent. They were pretty good too. :)
The music was just outstanding! I love to hear these artist not only sing but share their love for God. They are so encouraging.
Amy and I decided that we should travel around to every Festival and rate the event....the music, food, accommodations, courtesy of people, how many potties verses people! :) Hotels and restaurants are rated so why not Festivals?? :) I think we are on to something! When can we be hired?
Enjoying the music in a bit of sunshine.
Still enjoying the music...but freezing! Our tenting setup...Mealtime...Crowds of people...
Addison Road...one of our favorites...Autograph time. While we didn't get any autographs because we didn't get in line, Amy was able to get some very nice close up pictures of some of the artist. Here she is getting some of Red...one of her favorites.
