I can't believe it myself.

So I've thought for a long time that going to a Chiropractor was a bad thing. They only give temporary help. They don't really FIX the problem. All my co-workers even know how I feel about Chiropractors. They go and I've told them...watch out! But they go anyway.
I've been having some problems lately and have decided to go to the Chiropractor! Seriously, what has happened to me? And guess what? I like the Chiropractor that I'm going to! I think he might know something! He's been doing some work on me and I hear things happening and he says things are moving around. Whew! That's just crazy. But good. I'm trying my very best to trust him so that is a start for me. Even if he cannot fix the main problem that I went in for, I know that what he IS doing is good. So...IF you hesitate in going, like I did, I think if you can find a GOOD Chiropractor, you'll be glad. :)

Do you want to "Be Nice"?

I found a site that is just wonderful. It's called Operation NICE. It's a site that encourages you to be nice to others, to do kind things, to be thoughtful. I'm thinking we could all use a little niceness in our lives whether it be giving or receiving. I think this is a very cool way to get us all thinking about niceness a bit. There are some very simple ideas listed on this site about ways to be nice such as :
Overtip your waitress.
Give an extra $5 when you pay for something (retail, fast food restaurant) and ask that they apply it to the next person in line.
Or how about this one........
Thank a co-worker or employee out of the blue for there hard work.

So check out the site...it's pretty darn cool.
And go ahead...be nice. :) I'm sure going to try.

Finally!!!

So back in July I decided that it was time to re-do the bathroom. Here is the post about that if you forgot. Here are before pic. (JUNE)
and here's a pic after the first re-do. (JULY)Chocolate brown and some very ugly left over yellowish color for the top part and ceiling with what was suppose to be a dark turquoise blue for trim.
I hated what I did and it took me 7 months to re-do it. Crazy...but now I like it.
Here's today :) (FEB)I kept the chocolate brown on the lower part and did an olive green for the top part with a soft white for the ceiling and trim.
The blind I bought doesn't fit, so I have to find a new one. Still have to look for Shower curtain and rugs. Maybe a few decorations would be nice too. Also bought new light covers which you can't really see since they are blaring in the picture. :)

We made it!

Billie Jo and I.Well we are all back from our "wonderful" trip to Waconia MN to the Vintage Snowmobile Show. I will say this.....it was mostly a good trip. It seemed to take forever to get there and back. Larry, Billie Jo, Glen and I rode together in the pickup pulling a trailer with 9 Snowmobiles on it. You can't go fast with this kind of set up, I guess.
This was our welcome in the lobby of the Motel. It was filled with snowmobilers.
The 4 1/2 mile Snowmobile trail ride was something I was not necessarily planning on doing, but at the last minute I thought "why not"....so I went. There were 6 of "us" among about 500 other riders on this ride. I was pretty fun actually. Both Glen and Marlin had sled troubles and did not make it all the way around the trail. That was frustrating for them. I found it quite interesting that when a snowmobile is found not running everyone is like, "what happened" as if it's serious. It was almost like it was a person or something. Big stuff!

I could not believe all the people and the sleds.......wow, people really get into this thing!!
Some cool sleds........my Dad would LOVE these Artic Cats!
Here are the sleds ready to go....and Larry giving advice to Dalles, of course. :)
And the guys working on one of the sleds real quick...gotta make sure all is well.
Here is a picture of the crowd ahead of us as we waited for the trail ride to start.
And here's us all lined up....Marlin, Dalles, Larry, Billie Jo, Me and Glen.
This is the sled I rode....it's Glen's.
I got to ride it because it runs good and stops very good. But I still ran into Dalles once! :)

Glen and I.
Dalles on the sled he rode in the trail ride. He liked it so much that I guess he's hunting for a sled to buy. I think Glen is off looking at one for sale tonight even. We all went out to eat Saturday night at a very nice restaurant right on the lake. Billie Jo and I also found a really good Coffee Shop.
On Sunday Billie Jo and I went to the Mall of America which was only about 35 minutes away. We were not there long, but it was fun to go. Our other options were to sit in the motel room or stand around at the Snowmobile Show in the cold. I liked our choice.
Larry did very well with selling his stuff. He got rid of 2 sleds and lots of parts. Good to see him make a little money.

All in all it was a fun weekend. The guys are already talking about next year. I'm sure they will take MORE snowmobiles and stay LONGER. Us girls know how to get to the mall...so it's all good. :)

Blogging

I've been doing quite a bit of research today about blogging. I'd really like to step my blog up (especially my Party Blog) a bit....get some action going on it. There are some excellent sites out there to help one learn "how to" make a better blog. One in particular that I have come across is http://www.dailyblogtips.com/
also this blog http://grayskyeyes.wordpress.com/the-2009-blog-improvement-project/ is doing a Blog Improvement Project. I'm thinking about joining in...I certainly NEED to!
Another site.. http://tipjunkie.blogspot.com/2008/05/blogger-questions-tips.html
has some good information.
So if you are new to blogging or you want to start or even improve your blog...check these out.

Getting Ready

So Glen and I, Larry and Billie Jo, Mom and Dalles and Marlin and Lynette are all going to Wiconia MN for a weekend of Vintage Snowmobile Shows. The guys are SO excited...it's getting on my nerves already. I can't say that I am terribly excited about the whole thing. The idea of being out in the cold for any amount of time....well, doesn't thrill me. Now, going to the Mall of America, that could be exciting!! If us girls get our way, and we should, we will make a trip there sometime over the weekend. I have a feeling that if Larry and Billie Jo aren't arguing that Glen and I will be. Should make for a lovely trip. :) I will have to take lots of pictures of these "cool" sleds and post here. So wish me fun. :)

Ups and Downs

Well I've taken a bit of time off from blogging. It's been a very stressful week. For those of you who do not know...my uncle Kenny was killed last Friday night in a car accident. I even hate writing about it. It is so sad. I've spent alot of time with the family and they are doing as well as can be expected....just so many questions. Time heals and I am sure they want that time to go fast.
Because of this situation I was able to spend some time with Lynette, Marlin, Mike, Rachel and kids. They came here on Wednesday and stayed with us till today. It was a joy to have them here. I will say though....I am tired!! :) It was so good to meet the newest member of the family. He is adorable and just such a good baby.
And then there's Hannah. Wow. She is a spitfire!!! But an adorable spitfire. :) I just don't know if I've ever seen such a little go getter. She is into EVERYTHING! And Lynette forewarned me. She is so inquisitive it's amazing, but fun. Mike and Rachel are outstanding parents! They have certainly taken parenting seriously. That was so good to see. These are two very lucky kids. I do have permission to share a few photos so, of course I will.
Adorable...

Can't stand still even....

We are suppose to be coloring here...

Snowy scenes and Yummy cookies

Lots of pictures today

I went out yesterday to take a few pictures of our lovely white snow that seems to be EVERYWHERE. There is no significant snow in the forcast for awhile so that is good.
Our house

Driving down the streets

There IS a fire hydrant in there somewhere. It's nice to see the fire hydrants are marked if needed.

And this is my favorite picture and really the reason I went out to take pictures

And from today....
I have the little girls today and we made cookies, of course! :)
We cheated and used a box mix.

More SNOW!

It's snowing ALOT here today. School's closed. I think the snow is pretty, but goodness there is hardly anywhere to put it anymore. I wonder if we will be able to have church tomorrow. Crazy.

I put my Christmas money together and this is what I bought:

They are KitchenAid. I think they will be nice. Amy has these same kettles and she really likes hers.

And this..........
It will be used mostly for Candy buffet. I'm working on getting several glass containers that can be rented out to be used at Weddings or parties for Candy buffets. Could not pass this one up at $8.

Blog it Forward for a great cause!

let's eat cake fundraiser for St. Jude Children's Hospital

Let’s Eat Cake, an amazing fundraiser hosted by the equally amazing Melissa Margarita-DiStefano, is coming up quick: Tuesday, February 17th at the Plaza Paramount Hotel! Let’s Eat Cake is a cake decorating competition with all proceeds going to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Learn more about the fundraiser right here.

In an effort to make sure we get the word out to everyone (and raise money), we are starting this chain-blog (Ok, not sure if that is correct terminology. But it’s like a chain letter so let’s just go with it, shall we?)

Here’s what we need you to do…Repost this post (or create your own new version) on your blog and ask others to post it on their blogs. Melissa will donate one dollar to the fundraiser for EVERY BLOG that posts on Let’s Eat Cake this week! With the power of the blogosphere, that can QUICKLY add up! Let’s make Melissa Pay! Once you have reposted it, leave a comment letting us know that you posted it along with the url to the blog. It’s for a great cause and it will be fun to see how far it will go! So lets do it… Lets blog it forward and raise money for a great cause!!!

**Kudos to Unique Designs for creating this fun chain-blog effort!**

P.S. Ok, Melissa… time to kick in another $1! ;)

P.S.S. If any business wants to help out with a matching challenge, Melissa would love to hear from you!

A new CD

I really like the Christian band Leeland. I don't remember how I came across their music but I knew right away I liked it. When I saw that they were going to be at Lifelight, that made me very excited. It was indeed fun to see them in person. I bought one of their CD's at Lifelight and just this past week I was able to get another of their CD's. I had purchased something at the Rainbow Christian Store that wasn't going to work for me so I returned it and since I did not have a receipt I just got in-store credit....which is what I used to get the new CD. So I feel like I got the CD free, which of course I didn't. :) Anyway I'm going to change the music on my blog again. I guess Christmas is over so that music will be put away till next Christmas. I am going to try to find a few more Leeland songs to add to my playlist.
It was back to work today. So fun. It will be a full week (3 1/2 days). Not sure of my plans for the weekend yet. Maybe take down the Christmas tree and decorations.
I watched the Bachelor tonight. Oh my. I really want to see this season because I watched The Bachelorette last season and really liked the Jason guy who ended up not getting picked and now he is the Bachelor! But seriously, those girls on there are, well I don't even know what...um, different. Or maybe that is how girls are? I'm not terribly impressed. I hope he picks the right one. Oh the joy of Reality TV. And what a waste of time. :)

Happy New Year!

Well here it is 2009! Crazy! Time goes so amazingly fast. I looked back on my post 1 year ago and I wasn't doing anything other than going out to Larry & Billie Jo's to start a Money Management Program with them. Hum....I didn't stick with that resolution very long. :) BUT, I am trying to be more careful of money and get things paid up so that is good. I did learn something from the few weeks I stuck with the program.
I am in Fargo. Came here yesterday. Last night Amy and I went out to eat at a place called Grazies. It is an Italian Restaurant and it was VERY good! We had Asparagus Primavera and then shared a dessert of Creme' Brulle. That was amazing!! The topping tasted just like a campfire roasted marshmallow! Oh, so good! My original place to eat out at was Olive Garden, but thankfully Amy had thought it would be fun to eat at a place we've never eaten at and thought that a local place, not a chain restaurant, would be good. I'm glad I listened to her.
We went to the move "Yes Man". It was good, nice story line. It was about a man who really wasn't living. He went just went to his job, which he hated, and would never do anything fun in his life. He ended up going to a program where he had to say "yes" to everything. By saying yes he finally started living. He did things, fun things & some not as fun, that he would have never done before. It really changed him into a better person. We have rented 2 movies for today. It's probably still freezing cold out, so not really planning to spend much time running around today other than getting a few groceries and maybe having lunch or supper with Glen as he drives through Fargo today.
The past 2 years I have followed along with Ali E in choosing a word for the year. First year I choose "live", last year was "true" and this year I hadn't thought alot about it, but yesterday as I was driving the word "believe" came to me. So that is my word this year. BELIEVE. I will focus on what and how to believe in the right things.
Have a great first day of 2009 everyone, well the whole 2 or 3 people who read this weird blog! :)
