Car troubles

Well, I will say it has been an interesting few days. Yesterday I had to go to Bismarck for a Dental meeting which was to be at 7:30 am today. I thought it would be easier to go in the evening that to get up at 4:30 am. So I'm just driving along and being careful I might add...not even going the speed limit because there are alot of deer and I didn't want to hit one. I didn't. BUT, I did hit and kill :( a raccoon! I feel so bad about it. I did see him right before I hit him and I didn't brake or slow down, nothing. I really couldn't. I heard "crunch crunch" and that made me sick just thinking about it. Poor raccoon!! I thought all was fine, but my low coolant light came on so I wondered if something didn't maybe happen under my car, or whatever. So when I got to Bismarck I walked over to the other side where I knew I had hit the poor thing and I thought I might see something gross, but what I saw was this:

Ya so I guess it's about $700 worth of damage. Our deductible is $100. Not terribly excited about that. It is soon Christmas for goodness sakes! But I guess I'm ok and that is good. It couldn't have been much worse.

The check engine light came on also on the way home. Car is acting up. Hope it's not serious!

One reason I wanted to drive to Bismarck was to get the car washed. I did, today. So when I got home...the trunk was frozen shut. Can't get that open yet. Had to unload what I could out the back seat.

My music

I just have to point out that I LOVE the song "Joseph's Lullaby" on my blog. I have never heard a song like this before. It is just a very meaningful song about Joseph being the Savior Kings father. Very touching song.

New Music! It's Christmas time!

I just changed my music to Christmas songs. I know it's a bit early, but really, is it? It happens so fast that I'd just like to start enjoying the music now. I hope you do too.

More Winter

Thought I'd just share a couple more snowy pictures for my kids to see since they are not experiencing this wonderful winter storm.
First picture....just out the front door after I did SOME shoveling. That stuff is heavy!

Second picture.....the eaves overflowing.

Welcome Winter

Well it's here. I can't say that I like it...at all, except to see it from the window of my warm house. I had to drive in it today and it was crazy, especially since I could use some new tires. It's kind of embarrassing not being able to stop at the stop sign. And now I have overnight visitors. Destiny and Joel just got here and have had enough driving in this mess so they are staying tonight.
Here's a couple pictures from the day.
I guess so far we have received about 6 inches of snow.

Back from the Cities

Amy and I just got back tonight from our trip to the cities. We had a fabulous time! Friday we shopped at the outlet malls and then off to Bridget's. She and her family took us out to supper to a place called Buca di Beppo. It was an Italian restaurant that serves family size portions of food. So yummy!!
Saturday morning we found an Adventist church and that was nice. Not very many people there though. They wanted us to stay for potluck, but we didn't. Saturday afternoon Amy and I headed to downtown Minneapolis. Bridget's husband gave us perfect directions, but we, ok, I wanted to go to a sculpture park so we took an earlier exit but it didn't work out too well. We didn't find the park...we got too nervous being off track and then the directions we were given to get to our Concert were all messed up because we were not where we were supposed to be! But we got it. We were the first ones in line at the club, so we had perfect seating. It was awesome!!! There was a local band first, then After Edmund, Addison Road and Building 429. The messages of Addison Road and Building 429 really really touched our hearts. I thought they were just talking directly to us.
Addison Road shared about all the changes going on and how when our world seems to be upside down, we can know that God can be trusted and we should hold on to the hope that He brings to us.
Building 429 talked about how God carries us through any circumstances, divorce, loneliness, low self-esteem, anger. God carries us and he is ALWAYS there!!!
I do like it when they share Jesus in words and their music. Just a wonderful night! We want to go again. This club has concerts every weekend...so we'll see. Here's a link to the club Club 3 Degrees
This morning we went to church with Bridget. Her church has an average attendence of about 7000 people according to the bulleton. It was a really nice experience. Lots of praise and worship and the message was a blessing too. Amy and I went to IKEA today!! So happy about that! First time ever and I do like it. Bought a few little things. We then went over to the Mall of America. We didn't get to stay too long because we really needed to get going home. At the Mall we were able to see Shelley and Paige for a few minutes. That was nice...wish it could have been longer.
I have pictures to post, but since I forgot my attachment at home they will have to wait till next week when I get back.

Vacation and becoming an Entrepreneur

Well it's vacation time! Whoo hoo! I'm off for about 1 1/2 weeks and I have lots of plans. Today I am going to Fargo, tomorrow Amy and I are going to the cities. We are staying with my cousin and going to a concert and whatever else we can find to do. I will stay in Fargo till Thursday when Karla and I will be going to Lincoln to see the boys. I have not been to Lincoln in several years so this will be a treat.
Last night I ordered 1000 plastic bags that will be filled with Glen's Kettle Corn! We are going to do this thing. Glen makes the best Kettle Corn and this is a perfect opportunity for us to make some money. I am planning to peddle it to stores, and lots of people!! :) It will be an adventure that's for sure. I'm also working on getting my Party business going. It's a process.
Well that's it for now...so much to do before I can get going on my way. I would have liked to sleep in this morning...but just can't, too much on my mind.
Have a great day all.

Even better exciting news!

My son is getting married! After dating his girlfriend for well over 5 years he asked her tonight to be his wife and she said yes! Although I haven't actually talked with him since before the proposal I do know that he did ask and she did say yes. I called her mom just to see if the two of them were back at their house...which they weren't. We couldn't be happier for him. He is getting a lovely girl and her family is just wonderful too. When he was off buying a ring...I knew it! He didn't have to tell me what he was doing. I told him it's a mom thing, we just know those kinds of things. He will be home tomorrow for one day and then back again to school.

Exciting News!

Yesterday Scarlett and I went to Bismarck and while there we stopped at the Capitol building and made a visit to the Secretary of State office. There is where I attained a certified copy of my Trade Name for my new business I am pursuing! :) It's something I've been encouraged to do for some time and it's something I love. So ya, I have lots more steps to make, one down so far! My business is called Personally You Parties. I am in the process of setting up a party blog, an online store at Esty.com and coming up with tons of ideas for all kinds of parties. Stay tuned...

Oh and check my blog later tonight for more even better exciting news! :)

I did a bad thing

I was working online on a new blog (details about that another time) and as I was searching for a new template...I aquired a virus on my computer! :( I've been working all day on it trying to remove it. I've been on the phone with both Glen and Anthony. I've run all my Virus stuff and downloaded a new Virus cleaner upper...but I still have the stupid thing. My computer seems to be running ok, but it keeps telling me that my computer is infected. I had big plans for my computer today...so I'm kinda bummed. I'm using Glen's computer for all my blogging and emailing. Don't want to send anybody anthing. :)
But good news....I won a book from another blogger! It's called SOS for PMS. I won it on In Pursuit of Proverbs 31. It's a blog on my blog list if you want to check her out. Anyway, I think the book will go along nicely with the Magic PMS Wand Jan Jones recently gave me. :)
