Last Sunday Amy and I went with Destiny to church in Harvey. I don't usually go to church on Sunday and I had already gone on Saturday....but I will say it was nice.
They showed a video clip by Rob Bell entitled
TODAY.
We need to forget the past! Yep, that's right, forget the past. Forget about it! Don't worry about tomorrow. Don't worry!!! Humm....
Live for
Today. Live...
today.
I have a problem with this. I mean, I'm ok with it, but I have a problem LIVING like this. Many many days I keep wanting to go back. Back to the days when my kids were home, back to the days when life seemed fun because I was a mom that could be with her kids. Every day. And I loved it. Now...
today, that's over. They are moved away. And goodness....they should be, they are 22 and 26! But I miss the old life....and I need to change that.
After His Resurrection, even Jesus did not want Mary to hold on to the Jesus she knew before his death. Jesus wanted her to move on. Things were different now. She has a NEW role. Go and tell what has happened. Let go...receive a NEW spirit.
Is He saying to you...let go and receive a new spirit?
It's hard to move on.
It really is.
I feel empty sometimes.
But God is willing and able to fill that emptiness. He never leaves...and He provides everything we need for
today.Do you ever want to go back? Back to the "best years". How do you deal with living
today and being ok that the past is the past?
It's really not true that it was BETTER then.
To be free to live
today, I have to know that
TODAY is what is important...not the past.
"If we are holding on how things WERE our arms are not free to embrace
today.....and all we have is
TODAY."
"Be so fully present here and now that you don't miss a thing in this day. No regrets."
Here's the link to the
youtube video that was shown last Sunday. There are 2 parts.
Just thought I'd share...because life is hard and we can be assured that Jesus has a plan. We don't need to live in the past.
He is in our TODAY. :)
